JSciMed Central aims to harbor the journal free from the malpractice

JSM's "125 international peer reviewed journals" are a "platform for all the researchers, scientists, doctors, students to update with the latest advancements in Science, Technology & Medicine." One report indicates that it uses dummy addresses in the US to mask its location in India. You too can have its San Diego office suite for an address.

JSM advertises that "Our quality control team will help to analyze the quality of the manuscripts as per international standards." Apparently, English (or law?) is not part of the standards, as the next sentence on the webpage reads "Plagiarism is a crime, thus avoid plagiarism as we aim to harbor the Journal free from the malpractice."

Some of its spam states that "This is not a spam message and has been sent to you because of your eminence in the field." The message was from the Journal of Family Medicine and Community Health. My eminence in the field consists of being part of a family and living in a community.

UPDATE 6/25/20
JSMCentral, which "was initiated as an independent, peer reviewed, Open Access publishing organization with a mission ... to top a revolution in research education among the global scientific community," is the name that SMGroup (discussed on this blog) now uses for the publisher of its journals.
Annals of Forensic Science and Analysis

It is an interdisciplinary journal that provides advance science and its application to the Criminology, promote professionalism, veracity, capability, learning, foster research, progress practice, and new approaches in the forensic sciences.

  1. Ouch.
I think one should flood these fake journals with spoof articles.
They would be none the wiser.

  2. That seems like a bad idea- I bet they would collect our email addresses, and claim that we owe them money. Feh.

  3. Thank you for the useful post and information. I have also receiving very similar spam e-mails from this journal (JSciMed Central (JSM)) and countless others. The more we share, the less time legitimate researchers and professionals will waste wondering whether the publication is legitimate... Thank you
