Who Lives in the Biomed Nest?

Biomed Nest is "so much Enthusiastic." It wants "to bring out open Research." It has a long way to go.

No journals are listed on its website (4/18/19). Most links lead a page urging the viewer to "submit manuscript." Although there is a reference to "Biomed Research Nest" as a journal with "sections" such as "Enviroment," this journal does not seem to exist. But it will have two "special issues" -- one on cervical cancer (inasmuch as "The cervix is the narrow tube at the lower part of the uterus") and another on oral and dental research (because "Oral and Dental Health is a crucial part of our well being" and "Poor oral sanitation can lead to gum disease").

The positions held by the "Academic Editors" of the "Prestigious Editorial Board" are not listed, so I tried to check on a few. Amro M Ali is an instructor in the ophthalmology department of New York Medical College in Valhalla. Kameshwar R Ayasolla is not a researcher at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. (At least, the Institute's website does not have his name on the list. However, he might have some other affiliation with this "research branch of the Northwell Health enterprise ... headquartered in Manhasset, NY," for the organization is composed of more than 1,500 clinicians, scientists and staff.")

The website also advertises two conferences as if they are inside the Nest. In fact, these Singapore conferences carry the name of the questionable conference organizer, Biomedical Conferences.

The domain biomednest.com was registered about two months ago by Domains By Proxy. The address of the nest is 17389 Nature Walk Trail Parker, CO 80134, where condominiums are located.

  1. "No journals are listed on its website (4/18/19)"

There is in fact a journal, "American Journal of Biomedical Science and Research"... you may have failed to find it because the website is a real dog's breakfast with no links to relevant information. See here for more about the AJBSR:
    https://biomednest.com/proceedings.php

Now if you search for the AJBSR separately, you come to the "sister" website, 'biomedgrid:
    https://biomedgrid.com/

It provides a different contact address, which is (inevitably) a USPS post-box:

    BiomedGrid LLC,
    725 W Duarte Rd, suite #1675
    Arcadia, CA 91007, USA

I am not convinced that the claim to be a LLC is genuine.

  2. Older versions of the Biomed Grid webpages are still sitting around in Google Cache, showing a different address - part of an apartment complex.

    11660 Church St, Suite 654,
    Rancho Cucamonga, California 91730, USA

  3. The chicks seems to have found a new nest called Peer Research Nest. Just got a mail from the very "Annie Brown" needing urgently my contribution for the next "special issue" (scheduled for "first week of June") to "help by supporting [her] with [my] unpublished contribution", expecting "it on or before 14th of June".

The website text-link says "https://peernest.org/subject-areas.php" but the link itself re-roots via url3745.biomednest.net

Thunderbird flagged the mail as phishing attempt, and my antivirus gives a soft warning that the new nest may include some unwanted programmes.

The new nest-page itself is much more professional but pretty blank regarding scientific publications; the alleged ambitions are still the same (the usual bit funny English):
"Peer Nest is the best Peerical Research Journal which is finest platform where you can share the Innovative research in supporting the headway of Science, Technology, Engineering and Medicine."

  4. And "Annie Brown" is pushing me to get my submission in, you know other than I didn't offer one.

    Dear Dr. "me",

    Wishing you a joyful day!

Earlier, I have communicated with you regarding submission of your article. Unfortunately, we have not received any acknowledgement from your end. So, once again I kindly remind you to contribute any type of manuscript towards publication. Moreover, if you are unable to submit your research works, please contribute 2page short communication/Mini review according to your expediency.

I hope you will understand my words and expecting a piece of work at the earliest.

    Foresee to have your assistance.

  5. According to the answer given by Biomed Grid to the question posted on Quora by Biomed Grid < https://www.quora.com/profile/Biomed-Grid > their "journal is one of the best journals one such distributing top open access journals". Yet another predatory open access journal.
