SCIREA Journal of Sociology

SCIREA is an opaque publisher that does not reveal its location and staff. Its website describes the SCIREA Journal of Sociology as "an international, scientific peer-reviewed open access journal published online by SCIREA" and promises publication within approximately 25 days of submission. It accomplishes this feat without a named editor-in-chief. The listings for the "editorial board" go on and on, surpassing 1,000 members apparently motivated to write instant reports by "vouchers entitling them to a discount on the APC [author publishing charge of $330 as of April 30, 2021] of their next publication in any SCIREA journal, in appreciation of the work done." 

The first four (of 21) U.S. members of the bloated editorial board are said to be such luminaries in the discipline of sociology as:

The "Instructions for Authors" begin with the heading "Subscribe for Interminable Submissions." That sounds ominous. The instructions contain these "Open Science Policy Guide Lines to Submit the Manuscript: The absolute prototype for manuscript is originality, high scientific quality and interest to a multidisciplinary audience." I cannot say whether the journal's articles fit this absolute protoype. The website crashed when I tried accessing them.

It accomplishes this feat without a named editor-in-chief. The "Instructions for Authors" contain these "Open Science Policy Guide Lines to Submit the Manuscript: The absolute prototype for manuscript is originality, high scientific quality and interest to a multidisciplinary audience." Among these works for a multidisciplinary audience are "On Еc-(δ-ßc)-Compact Spaces and Еc-(δ-ßc)-Separation Axioms" and "The Structure of Groups GL(3,F)."

The "issues" of the journal are often single articles. The abstract of one such 14-page article on "The So-called Seqed and Scientific cradle of the angle θ in ancient Egypt" (vol. 3, issue 2, April 24, 2018) begins:

Science is a matter of asking for information by specifying the difference between fact and opinion. Fact in a scientific context is a generally accepted reality, but still open to scientific inquiry, as opposed to an absolute truth, which is not a part of science. The hypotheses and theories are generally based on objective inferences, unlike opinions, which are generally based on subjective influences. Therefore and hence we can say ‘the facts versus the opinions’.

Scientific Research Association (SCIREA)

Not to be confused with the McGraw Hill company that publishes educational materials (not to mention Gaetano Scirea, one of the greatest football defenders), Scientific Research Association (SCIREA) is a "global academic organization" that lists the following "Open Science Policy Guide Lines to Submit the Manuscript:

The absolute prototype for manuscript is originality, high scientific quality and interest to a multidisciplinary audience.

Its website once provided no address, no names, and no editors. There could be a connection to the SCIRP group, for the About SRA webpage states (9/26/16) that "SCIRP currently has 40 open access journals in the areas of science, technology and medicine." Another page (viewed 10/6/16) urges readers to "Subscribe for Interminable Submissions" by becoming individual, institutional or "cooperation" members. For an annual fee of $1200, the last group's "submitted manuscripts are eligible to avail the waiver."

The membership page displays a connection to yet another dubious publisher, namely, the American Association for Science and Technology (AASCIT). Joining Scirea provides one with a discount "for the publication in AASCIT journals." Still Scirea "takes an opportunity to serve the scientific community, students and researchers with undefiled research works." Who could object to that?

By 6/22/17, a long list of editors for various journals had appeared. The list includes

The SCIREA Journal of Computer (yep, that's the full name), has no editor, but a huge editorial board that includes a Dr. Babita (that's the full name) of Lovely Professional University in Punjab. The one board member from the US is Chunhui Guo, Department of Computer Science, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL.

They clearly swiped much of their web design from SCIRP (along with their business model), not always replacing everything that needed to be replaced. As you noted a few years ago, the 'AbutSCIREA' page initially provided the unhelpful information that "SCIREA is also an academic publisher of open access journals.
