the Audio Articles." Google Maps indicates that the address as of 10/10/16 is an apartment house in Thousand Oaks, California. This is a change from the initial addresses in 2015. Those were a mail forwarding front and an apartment house in Dubai, which led
Beall to suspect that "thirty-six science journals are being published by one man out of a flat in Dubai.
The
website displays unbounded ambition: "Juniper publishers have been established with the aim of spreading quality scientific information to
the research community throughout the universe. We ... strive to offer the
best in class ... thus matching up with the rapidity of the twenty-first century." All this for only
$1049 for a research article from a "high income country."
From the guidelines for authors: "Juniper reviewers are requested to provide authentic, positive review comments and critics for the respective manuscript." Also, "One can intimate us your pinion of accepting or declining the invitation. If you are not able to accept the invitation you can suggest any of your colleagues, so that respective editor may invite that person to review and you may not transfer your invitation."
One of Juniper's journal's lists a dog as an editor.
No kidding. Another wants a two-page opinion letter from me. That I have no MD or other training apparently is not a concern for the Juniper Online Journal of Orthoplastic and Microsurgical Reconstruction. Maybe I should take up the invitation to be "an honorable editorial board member."
