Bioaccent Group

The About Us page (12/21/16) includes "sentences" like this one: "'Quality is our first priority' hence Bio Accent open access publishers help the scientific community to publishquality articles related to latest developments happening in the areas of science, Technology and Medical." That is a mouthful from a publisher (on Beall's list) that is "one of the leading Open access publishing house based in Delware, USA." Judging from an email of 8/29/16, Bioaccent Group "invincibly believes" I am a urologist and "selective scientist" who has "enormously contributed." But, wait, a latter email reports that if I do not submit an article on pediatrics, that journal will be stalled. And the physics journal also can't complete its next issue without my "valuable manuscript." It's nice to be so important.

  1. I got the "Jassi Jones" unintelligible garbage almost identical to the wording above under 2/26/17, except it had to do with Palliative Medicine.

Seems the grammar points to Chinese or Korean hackers.

Also: DO NOT CLICK ON LINKS! You could easily download a virus!

  2. Chinese or Korean hackers

Just another couple of OMICS-wannbee lowlives operating out of Hyderabad.

I think the links in the emails are not so much virus/trojans, they're just set up so that a message is forwarded to the scammers -- containing the address to which your particular copy of the spam was sent -- to let them know that you have received it and are reading it. So they know to send you more spam.

  3. I got an email from "Jassi Jones" just now, containing the following "sentence": "Wish this contribution isn't time period having process by means of eminent just like you.". And again, the subject of the journal is completely out of my area.

  4. Looks like BioAccent didn't pay their domain / website fees and there is nothing left of their operation except an 'Account suspended' message.
